I'm positive I own every wii game that is a workout game so I can compare each to every other. I thought the Biggest Loaer Challenge was great at burning calories until I got this one. I actually bought it because another reviewer said it had fun step aerobics. I thought even if that was all it had, I love doing that on the wii with my balance board and step platform so that was enough...This is truly an all-around full-body great workout, however. It didn't give me my weight on the initial workout day as many games do, but instead asked me my body type according to three pictures on the screen. We then went into "Advanced Cardio" and boy did she whip me into shape! But don't let that scare you, I chose the fit person on the screen, and at the end of the segment it asked me if it was too hard or too easy and it adjusts for your next workout. The moves are really great and work your entire body...even your abs. And there are a variety of different workouts every day you workout to keep your interest up and this truly kept my interest up,One thing that bugs me about wii workout games is spending more time trying to get the screen to read my movement when I really am doing the move correctly and I had no problem with this game. It gave me credit for every move I did and the calorie count was accurate according to my bodybugg. The instruction was great, the moves are fun, I am not a Spice girls fan (sorry) yet I still think this is one of the most well done DVDs as far as a workout and as far as instruction and mixing things up each day to keep you interested. The weird clips of her laughing in between segments while a workout loads are pretty strange...you don't hear her laughing, you just see her crack up, then she comes back on the screen in workout mode, looking all serious. It's kind of crazy...but they always have the instructor doing something odd as the game loads. Fortunately, this loads fast and there is basically no downtime so your heart rate stays up for a great workout.I also like that you can incorporate strength training by adding handweights and ankle weights if yu have them (if not, they are cheap at TJ Maxx) and boost your caloric burn if you have the balance board with some step aerobics...I bought a platform riser made for my wii balance board to boost my workout even more so the balance board truly becomes a step.All-around and all-over great workout, great burn, top-notch moves to make it workI first began tracking this game long before it came to market. In fact I had pre-ordered it; however, when the release date kept being pushed back and changed my mind and canceled my pre-order. I revisited this game looking for a game to incorporate into my exercise repertoire as I am officially an exergamer: One who uses video games to get her workout on.I own or have owned the entire EA Sports Active franchise, including I bought mine using the discount option Amazon was offering so I took a leap getting a title with only 3 reviews on it. What a great title! I too had "My Fitness Coach." I used it for a while when there was nothing else available before deciding to get EA Sports Active and EA Sports Active More Workouts. I could never put my finger on what bothered me about those titles until I started using this one. Unlike EA Sports Active the SOUNDS in this title are very well thought out. For the opening screen there is a brief little musical intro but it is not overwhelming. Then for all the menus a movement is accompanied by a little whoosh sound.I also like Mel B's personality, not too sweet, not too mean - just right. I agree with the other reviewer that I could do without her laughing and smiling in between segments but that is a small price to pay when everything else works so well. It is definitely much more lifelike than My Fitness Coach. You really do feel like you have your very own professional fitness trainer.I'm psyched about working out with this title. Don't hesitate to buy it - it's a breed apart from all other Wii Fitness Titles. It was very hard to find this for wii, but I'm glad that I did. Mel B really kicks your butt but is very encouraging while you're working out. The controls with the Wii are a little bit off as it doesn't always register your exercise but as long as you're actually doing it, who cares. There's a few things I'd change, like in one of the menus it lets you choose what you want to work on, I wish strength was one of the options as I'd like my "program" i chose to have less cardio and more strength exercises. All in all a great work out game to get me through the winter until I can get back outside in the srping.
